What to know when buying an appliance in the Netherlands
- Appliances for the Dutch market use the Type F (Schuko) plug and run on 230V.
- Since 2018 most new-build homes in the Netherlands are built without a gas connection, so induction hobs and electric ovens are the usual choice in new kitchens.
- Dutch kitchens are typically built around 60cm units, which suits fully integrated dishwashers and integrated fridges in standard housings.
- Induction hobs often need a two-phase or dedicated group connection; our installers check your meter cupboard set-up before connecting.
